We lock out remote openers at night, but that's not convenient days. Due to mishandling a remote, or forgetfulness, an open door is an invitation for theft. So we installed a monitor. Worked fine, but the 2nd day both green and red lights were flashing. Reason? Sensor sends a signal regularly to synchronize the receiver. The recvr must recognize a synch signal evry 20 mins or less. If not, it's effectively disabled and it flashes both lights to inform you of this. Correction? Unplug it, plug it back in. We have an upstairs receiver and a downstairs receiver so that an open door is obvious w/o a downstairs/upstairs trip. We bought two sets and "learned" both sensors to both receivers. Due to distance from the garage door and the number of intervening walls, and the state of the battery, and all the wireless networking in the house, and radio frequency leakage from various appliances, the synch signal (particularly) may be weak. Workaround? We decided to put one of the sensors in the house located 10 ft from each receiver. Now both receivers get synch signals from both sensors regularly. Every 3 or 4 days we still catch a receiver flashing both lights, but not yet both receivers at the same time. So far, both receivers have functioned satisfactorily. Hope this workaround is helpful.

Our garage door can not be seen without walking outside, so when accidental triggering of the remote happens, the door stayed up until we went outside to check the door. Incredibly easy to install, and very reliable, and a standard battery. I wish the remotes had recessed buttons! Just carrying the remote in my pocket with the car keys triggers the opener. Terrific product because it actually works!

Reviews
After searching high and low for a compatible transmitter for a very old Overhead Door Company opener, I found this transmitter. It matched the frequency printed on the side of the opener (360 mHz) and had 9 3-way switches, like my opener. On opening the transmitter, setting the switches, and pressing the button, the door opened without issue.
Note: "Universal - works with every opener" is not true of the transmitters you can buy at Home Depot, Lowe's, et al. Universal only means the newer units. Frequency matters!

Reviews
Item is used as a garage door opener for my motorcycle and is kept on my key ring. It is a little bigger than I imagined; bigger than my car remote. Programming involved moving tiny jumpers onto specific pins and may be difficult for some.
I would have liked to have found a smaller remote that had some degree of weather-proofing, but I am unaware of any other remote that would work with my (older) garage door opener.
Other than that, it has worked like a charm and I am happy with it.

There are a few of these items available from different manufacturers. I selected this one for the best price. Apparently this is a stock item marketed from the garage opener supplier, yet I couldn't find one in Home Depot, Lowes, or Sears when I wanted one. The installation is very straight forward. I happen to have an aluminum frame and it took a few extra minutes because the drill kept 'walking'. I wanted it centered and with a small amount of filing, it went in OK. If you don't have a side door, or like me, have a compressor blocking it,a release is just a great idea.

This is exactly what I needed to combine my garage doors with my motorized fence gate motors when using a three-button transmitter. I bought 2, one for each garage door. I do have a couple of complaints though. First, the receiver's instruction manual is not very informative, more pictures than worded instructions. Second, you have to wire it to a power source such as a 9volt or higher plug in adapter. These plug-ins (transformers) add more cost in order to get this product up and running. Overall, works perfect.
