There are a few of these items available from different manufacturers. I selected this one for the best price. Apparently this is a stock item marketed from the garage opener supplier, yet I couldn't find one in Home Depot, Lowes, or Sears when I wanted one. The installation is very straight forward. I happen to have an aluminum frame and it took a few extra minutes because the drill kept 'walking'. I wanted it centered and with a small amount of filing, it went in OK. If you don't have a side door, or like me, have a compressor blocking it,a release is just a great idea.

Sears used to sell the emergency release but for some reason stopped.If you have a garage door opener this is a Must Have item.Especially for us that don't have another way in a garage other than the garage door!!! The cable was too short but I had no problem making it longer.Glad I bought it.Thanks Alot
